Purpose:

The Perception and Risk Management module aims to introduce safe and proper observation skills.

Module Objectives:

The main objective of the Perception and Risk Management module is to teach drivers safe and proper observation skills. This module teaches appropriate risk-management strategies, drivers' limits to assessing risk levels, the necessity of accurate risk perceptions, common collision factors, and how to reduce risks leading up to these events.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing this module, drivers will acquire the following skills and knowledge:

• Drivers will learn how to search and scan to detect potential hazards visually.
• Drivers will learn about the different types of drivers.

• Drivers will learn about the importance of personal risk tolerance.
• Drivers will learn to demonstrate appropriate risk management strategies, habits and attitudes consistently.
• Drivers will learn how to identify accurate risk perception.
• Drivers will learn about the factors that affect a driver's risk perception.
• Drivers will learn about common collision factors and situations for beginner drivers.
• Drivers will learn about the potential dangers of driving and effective responses.
• Drivers will learn about hazard perception, decision-making, and judgment.
• Drivers will learn how to use decision-making skills to drive safely.
