Three-Point Turn Guide: Steps and Safety Tips

Three-point turns

A three-point turn is used to turn around on narrow roads when a U-turn is impossible. Follow these steps:

Signal Your Intention:

  • Use Turn Signal: Activate your left turn signal.

Position Your Vehicle:

  • Move to the Edge: Move close to the right edge of the road.

First Turn:

  • Turn Left: Turn the wheel left and drive forward to the left side of the road. Stop before reaching the curb.

Check Surroundings:

  • Mirrors and Blind Spots: Ensure the area is clear.

Reverse:

  • Signal Right: Activate your right turn signal.
  • Turn Right: Turn the wheel right and slowly reverse to the right side of the road. Stop before the curb.

Final Turn:

  • Check Again: Ensure it is safe to proceed.
  • Turn Left: Turn the wheel left, cancel the right signal, and drive forward into the lane.

Safety Tips:

  • Stay Alert: Check for other vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Use Signals: Communicate intentions.
  • Go Slow: Perform the maneuver slowly.
  • Choose Safe Spots: Avoid turns near bends or poor visibility.

By following these steps, you can safely perform a three-point turn on narrow roads.
