Purpose:
The Attention module aims to educate on various aspects of driving, such as impairments and distractions that may impact driving behaviour.
Module Objectives:
The Attention module’s main objective is to teach students how impairments and distractions can affect drivers and other road users’ driving and safety.
Learning Outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will acquire the following skills and knowledge:
- Students will learn about the symptoms and effects of various types of impairments
- Students will learn about the different consequences of impairments, i.e. personal, social, legal and financial
- Students will learn about myths and facts related to impairments
- Students will learn about potential distractions both inside and outside the vehicle and how it affects driving
- Students will learn about strategies to manage a driver's attention
