About G2 Licence Preparation
The G2 licence is your second step in Ontario's Graduated Licensing System. Driviology provides private, one-on-one driving instruction to build your confidence and prepare you for the Ontario G2 DriveTest.
Our certified instructors tailor each 90-minute private training session to your skill level, covering all manoeuvres and scenarios tested on the G2 road test. Choose a road-test package based on your preparation needs, or the 45-minute warm-up if you are already road-test ready.

About the G2 Licence
The G2 is the second step in Ontario's Graduated Licensing System. It allows you to drive independently but with some restrictions. To be eligible, you must:
- Hold a G1 licence for at least 12 months (reduced to 8 months with a government-approved BDE course)
- Be at least 16 years old
- Pass the G2 road test, which evaluates basic city driving skills
G2 Licence Privileges & Restrictions
You Can:
- Drive independently on most Ontario roads
- Carry passengers (with enough seat belts)
- Drive on highways
You Cannot:
- Drive with any alcohol in your bloodstream (zero-tolerance)
- Drive between midnight–5 a.m. with young passengers (if under 20)
Understanding the G2 Road Test
The G2 DriveTest takes place on local city roads (no highway component). The examiner will assess:
- Basic vehicle control and manoeuvres
- Awareness of other road users
- Proper response to traffic signals and signs
- Safe lane positioning and lane changes
- Parking and reverse manoeuvres
How Many Lessons Do You Need?
The number of lessons you need depends on your current driving experience, confidence level, and preparation goals. Your instructor will assess your skills in the first session and advise if additional practice is needed. Our packages are flexible:

Already an Experienced Driver?
Experience is an advantage. But habits become automatic.
If you've been driving for 10, 15 or 20 years, you probably don't need someone to teach you how to move a vehicle. What may need attention are long-standing habits that do not fully align with Ontario driving rules or what an examiner expects to see during the road test.
But I did stop.
Applying the brake is not always the same as bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. A rolling stop can feel normal after years of driving.
But I checked.
Mirror checks can become automatic, while proper blind-spot observation may no longer be performed consistently when required.
